Congruence
- Congruent shapes have sides with equal lengths and equal corresponding angles
- Two triangles with all sides the same length are congruent
- Two shapes with all sides the same length might not be congruent if the angles between the sides are different
- Similar shapes have equal corresponding angles but may be different in size
- To determine if shapes are congruent, check if all sides are equal and if all corresponding angles are equal
- If the sides and corresponding angles are equal, the shapes are congruent
- If the sides or corresponding angles are not equal, the shapes are not congruent
- It doesn't matter if you check the sides or corresponding angles first
- If two shapes are congruent, they will have the same side lengths and equal corresponding angles
- The placement of one shape on top of another can help determine if they are congruent
