Decimal Places
- Decimal numbers represent non-whole numbers
- Decimal place is the position of a digit after a decimal point
- Each decimal place is ten times smaller than the previous one
- Place value of digits in a decimal can be found and compared in a place value chart
- Adding zeros to the end of a decimal does not change its value
- Digits in a decimal can be read off to determine their place value
- Ordering decimal numbers is harder than ordering whole numbers
- More digits does not necessarily mean a larger number
- Comparing the digits in each decimal place helps determine the order of decimals from largest to smallest
