Exterior Angles Around a Polygon

3:48 Angles in Shapes
Spec G6
  • Exterior angles of a polygon are angles outside the polygon found by extending the edge of the polygon
  • The interior angle plus the exterior angle of a vertex add up to 180 degrees
  • To calculate the exterior angle given the interior angle, subtract the interior angle from 180 degrees
  • The exterior angles of any polygon add up to 360 degrees
  • To calculate a missing exterior angle, use the equation: sum of known exterior angles + missing angle = 360 degrees
