Introduction to Vectors
- A vector has both direction and magnitude, while a scalar only has magnitude
- Examples of scalars include distance, speed, time, heat, and mass
- Examples of vectors include displacement, velocity, and force
- The length of a vector represents its magnitude or size
- The direction that the arrow points in represents the direction of the vector
- Vectors are used to describe quantities with magnitude and direction in science and everyday life
- Vectors can be used to represent the movement of objects, such as a football being kicked
