Locus from Lines
- A locus is a set of points defined by a region, curve, or line that satisfy certain conditions
- The locus of a point at a constant distance from a fixed line is a parallel line
- A parallel line is another line that travels in the same direction as the first line and never meets even when extended to infinity
- The locus of points equidistant from two intersecting lines is the angle bisector
- The angle bisector is the straight line originating from the vertex of the angle that splits the angle into two equal, smaller angles
- Any point on the angle bisector is the same distance from both lines
- It is important to know the definitions of these types of loci and be able to draw them with compasses and a ruler for exams.
