Locus from Points

5:04 Locii
Spec G2
  • Loci are sets of points that satisfy certain conditions
  • The locus of points that are a constant distance from another point is a circle
  • The locus of points that are an equal distance from two points is the perpendicular bisector of the line between the two points
  • The perpendicular bisector gives the locus of points the same distance from both points
  • The locus of points that are less than a certain distance away from a point is the region defined by a circle
  • The region inside the circle forms the locus of points that are less than a certain distance away from the point in the middle
  • It is possible to combine the conditions of two loci to form another, more specific locus
  • To find the locus of points for combined conditions, draw the perpendicular bisector and an arc from the second point
  • Shade the region between the arc and the perpendicular bisector to represent the locus of points for the combined conditions
