Manipulating Inequalities
- Inequalities can be manipulated like equations by adding or subtracting from both sides of the inequality
- Inequalities can also be manipulated like equations by multiplying or dividing both sides by the same positive number
- When multiplying or dividing by a negative number, the inequality sign must be reversed
- Forgetting to reverse the inequality sign when multiplying or dividing by a negative number is a common source of error
