Mixed & Improper Fractions
- A non whole number greater than one can be represented as a mixed or improper fraction
- A mixed number is a combination of a whole number and a fraction
- A mixed number can be represented as the number of wholes and the fractional parts left over
- An improper fraction is a fraction where the numerator is greater than the denominator
- An improper fraction can be represented as shading in the appropriate number of fractional parts
- Improper fractions and mixed numbers can be used interchangeably to represent the same value
