Ordering Positive & Negative Numbers
- Integers can be ordered based on their size
- To order integers, draw a number line
- Each big space between the larger vertical lines represents a distance of 5 between numbers
- Each small space between the smaller vertical lines represents a distance of 1 between numbers
- Label the positive numbers on the number line by counting the small spaces after 0
- Label the negative numbers on the number line by counting the small spaces before 0
- Write the numbers in order, starting with the smallest and finishing with the largest
- The correct order for the given integers is: -8, -2, 3, 6, 9
