  • The circumference of a circle is the distance around it
  • A circle is a 2D shape with one curved edge and no vertices
  • All points on the edge of a circle are the same distance from the central point
  • The circumference is the distance all the way around the curved edge

  • The diameter of a circle is the maximum distance from one point on the edge to another in a straight line through the center
  • The diameter can also refer to the line itself
  • The radius of a circle is the straight line distance from the center to the circumference
  • The radius is half the length of the diameter
  • The radius is constant no matter where it is drawn on the circle
  • A tangent to a circle is a line that just touches the circle at a single point
