Percentage of a Value
- A percentage is a way of describing a proportion of a number
- To find a percentage of a value, you can multiply the value by the percentage and divide by 100
- Alternatively, you can convert the percentage to a fraction and multiply it by the value
- Both methods are useful, but the non-fraction method is usually easier
- Example: 60% of 15 is 9
- Example: 54% of 250 is 135
- Example: 175% of 0.8 is 1.4 meters
