Points, Vertices & Angles
- A point is a position in space with no length or width
- A vertex is the corner where two lines meet at a point
- An angle is a measure of turn
- Angles are measured in degrees
- There are 360 degrees in a circle
- Smaller turns can be represented by breaking 360 degrees into fractional parts
- Acute angles are less than 90 degrees
- Right angles are exactly 90 degrees
- Obtuse angles are between 90 and 180 degrees
- Reflex angles are between 180 and 360 degrees
- It is not necessary to measure angles without a protractor
- It is important to be able to recognize and identify different types of angles
