Probability Tree Diagram Calculations

6:22 Probability Tree Diagrams
Spec P4 P6 P8
  • Probability tree diagrams can be used to find the probability of a series of events occurring in a specific order
  • The probabilities of each event along the branches of the tree diagram can be multiplied together to find the combined probability
  • The probabilities along all branches in the tree diagram should add up to 1
  • The events represented by different paths in the tree diagram are mutually exclusive, so their probabilities can be added together to find combined probabilities
  • Examples are given to demonstrate how to calculate probabilities using probability tree diagrams
