Shape of a Quadratic Graph
- A quadratic function has the general form ax^2 + bx + c
- A quadratic graph has a smooth curved U shape, known as a parabola
- All quadratic graphs have a vertical line of symmetry
- The coefficient of the x^2 term determines the width of the quadratic graph
- Quadratics with a positive x^2 term curve upwards, creating a smiley face shape
- Quadratics with a negative x^2 term curve downwards, creating an unhappy face shape
