  • A ratio is in its simplest form if it cannot be simplified any further
  • In an exam, you might be asked to give the answer to a ratio question in fully simplified form
  • To simplify a ratio, divide both sides of the ratio by a common factor
  • The ratio 20 to 80 can be simplified to the ratio 1 to 4
