Solving Linear Inequalities
- A linear inequality is solved by making the variable the subject of the inequality
- Inequalities describe a relationship between two expressions
- Manipulating inequalities is similar to manipulating equations
- Dividing both sides of an inequality by the same number is necessary to solve it
- Inequalities with multiple signs can be split into separate inequalities
- Solving an inequality with multiple signs can be difficult, so it is easier to solve each inequality separately
- The final step is to combine the solutions of the separate inequalities into a single inequality with multiple signs
