Subtracting from a Negative Number
- Subtracting a positive number from a negative number results in a more negative number
- To solve the problem, draw a number line with zero at the right and going down to minus ten
- Determine whether to move left or right based on the operation (in this case, subtraction)
- Move left on the number line by the amount specified (in this case, 3 spaces)
- The result is a more negative number (in this case, negative 10 is further to the left than negative 7)
