Truncation
- Truncation is an alternative to rounding
- Truncation removes one or more digits from the end of a number without rounding the next digit
- Truncation always rounds down
- Truncation is different from rounding because it does not consider the value of the next digit
- Truncation is used to determine accuracy limits in certain contexts, such as age representation
- Truncation is used to represent full years, regardless of months, weeks, and days
- Truncation can be used to calculate error intervals by determining the lowest and upper bounds of a value
