Gravity and Newton's Laws

Newton’s First Law

  • Newton’s first law states that if the resultant force on an object is zero then it will experience no acceleration. This means the object will either:
    • Remain stationary.
    • Travel at the same, constant velocity.
  • Inertia is the tendency of an object to remain at rest or continue moving with uniform motion.
