Nuclear fusion and fission

Nuclear fusion

  • Nuclear fusion is the process of joining together two small nuclei into a larger nucleus.
  • This is extremely difficult to achieve but happens continuously in stars.
  • The fusion reaction causes a large amount of energy to be released. This is what causes the star to be hot and bright.
