Fezziweg

Fezziwig is Scrooge’s former boss from when he was apprenticed as a young adult. Fezziwig is first introduced to the reader in the vision of the Ghost of Christmas Past, where the spirit depicts the Christmas party he hosted.

Though the party is a relatively humble one and entailed no great expense on Fezziwig’s behalf, it is greatly treasured by the guests due to the optimism and merriment of his character. Scrooge comprehends that it is Fezziwig’s vibrant nature which is so lauded by the guests, rather than any material pleasures he provides.

Like Fred and Tiny Tim, Fezziwig becomes the embodiment of how Christmas should be celebrated and viewed by individuals.
