  • For an object that has constant acceleration, the following equation holds:

\[\text{(final velocity)}^2-\text{(initial velocity)}^2\times\text{acceleration}\times\text{distance travelled}\]

  • This can be written as \(v^2-u^2=2as\) where:
    • \(v\) is the final velocity in m/s
    • \(u\) is the initial velocity in m/s
    • \(a\) the constant acceleration in m/s2
    • \(s\) is the distance travelled in m.
