  • Food supply: uneven due to climate, soil quality, and technology. LICs often face food shortages, while HICs experience food waste.
  • Food consumption: HICs consume more calories and a wider variety of food options like organic produce. LICs rely on subsistence farming and have limited access to diverse diets.
  • Water supply: uneven distribution due to climate, geography, and infrastructure. Water-rich areas (e.g. Amazon Basin) contrast with regions (e.g. Sub-Saharan Africa).
  • Water consumption: HICs use more water per capita (e.g. for industry, agriculture, and domestic use). LICs often lack access to clean water, relying on unsafe sources.
  • Energy supply: fossil fuels are unevenly distributed globally (e.g. oil in the Middle East). Renewable energy potential varies (e.g. solar in sunny regions, wind in coastal areas).
  • Energy consumption: HICs like USA, China, and Russia consume far more energy per capita due to industrialisation and high living standards. LICs rely on traditional energy sources (e.g. wood, charcoal), which are less efficient and more polluting.
