  • Issue warnings: authorities warn people about aftershocks or further danger to help keep people safe.
  • Rescue teams search for survivors: emergency teams search for people trapped under rubble, using special equipment and dogs to rescue survivors.
  • Treat the injured: doctors and paramedics treat the wounded. Temporary hospitals may be set up if local ones are damaged.
  • Improve building regulations: use materials and design buildings that can withstand earthquakes.
  • Restore utilities: fix broken water pipes, electricity cables, and gas lines to restore normalcy.
  • Resettle locals elsewhere: move people to safer areas if their homes are destroyed or unsafe, reducing the risk of potential harm.
  • Install monitoring technology: set up equipment to detect earthquakes early, alerting people to prepare.
