The scene commences back in the Capulets’ house where Capulet is preparing for Juliet’s wedding. Juliet returns from her visit to the Friar and is seemingly quite remorseful for her behaviour and disappointed that she was disobedient and as such she now expresses that she is willing to marry Paris. She falls to her knees and gives Friar Lawrence the credit for her changed attitude towards marriage: “where I have learned me to repent the sin of disobedient opposition to you and your behests, and am enjoined by holy Lawrence to fall prostrate here to beg your pardon.” Capulet is delighted by the change in Juliet’s attitude, thanks the Friar for this turn around and proceeds to leave the scene to go and inform Paris of Juliet’s sudden positivity.
