  • This approach unites both psychological and biological explanations. It observes how therapies should incorporate both biological and psychological factors of schizophrenia.
  • The diathesis-stress model: theorises that schizophrenia may be biological in nature but is expressed by the environment. This idea has been applied to schizophrenia treatments where they aim to treat both the biological and physiological aspects of the condition.
